Swingers in Liverpool
Liverpool Swingers: Meet Merseyside Couples and Singles
Cocktails at the Albert Dock, a ferry over the Mersey and a club night in Birkenhead.
Cross the Mersey and the night begins
For a club night, look across the river. Townhouse is in Birkenhead, on the west bank of the Mersey, and the ferry over takes about ten minutes.
More than 150 of our members live across Merseyside, more than 45 of them couples, and more than 100 call Liverpool their nearest town, a city of about 508,000 people.
Three ways over the water
Choose the crossing before you choose the outfit.
- By ferry. The Mersey Ferry crossing takes about 10 minutes.
- By rail. Merseyrail's Wirral Line runs to Birkenhead, Chester and West Kirby, and its Northern Line runs to Southport. The central stations are Lime Street, Liverpool Central, Moorfields and James Street.
- By road. Two tolled tunnels run under the Mersey, and the M62, M53, M57 and M58 serve the city. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is about 7.5 miles south.
Townhouse nights in Birkenhead
Townhouse, on Union Street in Birkenhead, is a swing, kink and LGBTQ+ club. Its own site listed events from 16 to 31 October 2026 when we looked on 14 October, including a Halloween party on 31 October.
Every club writes its own rules for dress, singles and phones, so read the listing before you book. Prefer a hosted night to a club? Swingers parties explains how guest lists and house rules work, and swinging terms decodes the vocabulary on a listing.
Three bars for the first round
- Bar Glue in Anchor Courtyard at the Albert Dock, ranked second on the Top 50 Cocktail Bars 2026 list.
- Slowpour, in the basement of Ropes & Twines on Wood Street, also on the 2026 list.
- Sister Ray on Wolstenholme Square, another name from the 2026 list.
If the first round turns into a second, the nightlife streets are Seel Street, Concert Square, Fleet Street, Wood Street, Duke Street and Mathew Street.

Up the coast and along the M62
Southport is about 17 miles north of Liverpool on Merseyrail's Northern Line. Manchester is 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes away by train, and swingers in Manchester has a page of its own. Liverpool answers before you cross
Is there a swingers club in Liverpool?
The one that came through our checks is Townhouse in Birkenhead, a ten-minute ferry ride across the Mersey. Its site listed events from 16 to 31 October 2026, including Halloween on 31 October. Read the listing for its door policy before you book.
Which parts of Liverpool suit a night out?
The Waterfront (Pier Head and Albert Dock), the Baltic Triangle, the Ropewalks, the Georgian Quarter, Hope Street, Bold Street, Lark Lane and the Knowledge Quarter are the areas to know. Pick one both couples can reach easily, then add a second round on the nightlife streets above.
Can I get to Birkenhead and Southport without a car?
Yes. Merseyrail's Wirral Line serves Birkenhead, the Mersey Ferry crosses in about 10 minutes and the Northern Line runs to Southport, about 17 miles north. Agree who is travelling with whom, and check your last service home before a late night.
Do I need a GP referral for a sexual health clinic?
Not usually. You don't normally need a referral or an appointment, though the NHS says to contact the clinic first, and you don't have to give your real name or the name of your GP surgery. Staff won't tell your GP what you discuss without your permission.
