Swingers USA: Meet Couples Worth the Drive

More than 200 members from California to New York, and the know-how to make a wide map work.

A big map with bright spots

The USA has more than 200 Swingers Lounge members, with more than 80 of them couples. They are spread over a very large country, so this page does what a city page cannot: it shows you which states to start in and how couples make the distances work.

Members are spread across states rather than gathered in one or two cities, so the state is the unit that matters.

Want to see who is close to you? Swingers near me shows how the search works, and all our places shows the rest of the map.

Start with your state

  • California: more than 40
  • Texas: more than 15
  • New York: more than 10
  • Ohio: 10
  • Illinois: 10
  • Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Kansas: fewer than 10 each

California leads, with Texas and New York next. If your state is not in the list, look across the state line: distance counts in your matches, and a message works the same way.

A bigger club than you think

The Kinsey Institute at Indiana University is among the institutions behind a 2017 paper in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy (Haupert and colleagues) that found more than one in five single American adults had engaged in consensual non-monogamy at some point. That covers more than swinging, but it shows how many people have stepped outside the usual pattern. In YouGov's June 2026 survey of around 1,000 American adults, 8% said they had been in an open arrangement and 3% said they were in one at the time.

New to the scene? Our guide to what swinging is explains the basics in plain words.

Three ways to make a wide map work

When the nearest couple is a long drive away, the plan matters as much as the profile.

  1. Widen the net

Distance counts in your suggested matches already. On VIP, filters for city and distance let you search a whole state in one go.

  2. Meet halfway

Pick a town or hotel bar both couples can reach, share the driving and agree an end time before anyone sets off. If the drive is long, book a room.

  3. Plan a weekend

With a couple a few hours away, one longer meet beats several short ones. VIP members can open a private group chat of up to 50 people to organise it.

Settle these before anyone starts the car

  • Who is driving, and how everyone gets home.
  • Where each couple is sleeping, if the night runs late.
  • The end time for the evening, and the word that means one couple wants to leave.
  • The limits each of you has agreed, said out loud.
  • How you will say no without any awkwardness; the swinger etiquette guide covers it.

Laws change at the state line

Laws about sex in public are set by each state. New York, for example, treats public lewdness as a misdemeanour. Whatever your state's wording, the practical rule is the same: sex belongs in private homes and in venues built for it, and a venue's own rules come first.

Our swingers clubs and swingers parties pages explain how registration, photo ID and house rules usually work.

Keep each other healthy

The CDC's Get Tested service lists confidential testing near you that is fast and costs little or nothing, and the CDC says everyone aged 13 to 64 should be tested for HIV at least once. It also says latex condoms reduce the risk of STIs but do not give absolute protection, so they need to be used correctly and consistently. Knowing your own STI status is a critical step in prevention, the CDC adds, and your partner should ask a healthcare provider about testing as well.

Talk about testing before you meet, not at the door. The safety page covers the checks built into the site.

Swingers USA, answered

Are there swingers near me in the USA?

Members are named in California, Texas, New York, Ohio, Illinois, Arizona, Nevada, Florida and Kansas, with California leading. Join, set your nearest town and look at your suggested matches, which take distance into account. VIP filters let you search a whole state.

Which US states have the most members?

California leads with more than 40 members, followed by Texas with more than 15 and New York with more than 10, while Ohio and Illinois have 10 each. Join, set your nearest town and widen the distance to take in the states around you.

What does the law say about sex in public in the US?

It is set by each state. New York's Penal Law, for example, makes public lewdness a misdemeanour. Whichever state you are in, sex belongs behind a closed door at home or in a venue built for it, so read the house rules before you book.
