Brisbane Swingers: From the Valley to the Gold Coast

Start in the Valley
Fortitude Valley has the highest concentration of bars, pubs and clubs in Australia, and it was the country's first Special Entertainment Precinct. That makes it the natural place for a Brisbane night to begin. The swingers' door is further south, so the Valley is where you meet and the road is how you go on.
Queensland holds more than 150 Swingers Lounge members, more than 60 of them couples. Profiles name Cairns and Townsville as well as Brisbane, so the state is wider than its south-east corner.

Meet in the Valley
The Lobby Bar at The Calile Hotel on James Street is one easy choice. Howard Smith Wharves, on the river under the Story Bridge, is another, with Fiume Rooftop Bar and Mr Percival's. We checked both on 14 October 2026.
Choose your door
Taboo22 is in Loganholme, 30.6 km south-south-east of the CBD, at Unit 5/6 Cairns Street. Its website says to leave the motorway at exit 30.

It opens on Fridays and Saturdays from 7.30pm to 2am, and its site listed events through 31 October 2026 when we checked on 14 October.
Sort the ride home
A go card and the CityCat ferries cover Brisbane itself, but Loganholme sits out in Logan City, so settle a driver or a lift before you leave.
Coming from out of town? Long-distance trains stop at Roma Street, the M1 Pacific Motorway runs south to the Gold Coast, and the Gateway Bridge and the Bruce Highway lead north.

The Gold Coast is about 66 km south-south-east of Brisbane. Trains take just over an hour from Brisbane Central to Helensvale, Nerang and Robina, and the G:link tram links Helensvale, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Burleigh Heads.
A night on the Gold Coast starts with a drink. Rick Shores at Burleigh Heads has a bar and a patio, and the Lobby Bar at The Langham is in Surfers Paradise, both checked the same day. The Sunshine Coast is 100 km north of Brisbane, which makes it a weekend rather than an evening. If you are planning a weekend on the Gold Coast, avoid Schoolies Week, when a wave of school-leavers arrives.
Know the rules and stay healthy
Laws about sex in public are set state by state. Queensland's Criminal Code makes it an offence to do an indecent act wilfully and without lawful excuse in any place the public are allowed to enter. A separate section makes it an offence to observe or record someone without consent where a reasonable adult would expect privacy.
In practice that means play stays in private rooms and phones stay in pockets. Swingers clubs covers the house rules most venues share.

Where should Brisbane swingers meet before driving to Loganholme?
The Lobby Bar at The Calile Hotel and Howard Smith Wharves are two options in the inner city. Meet early, keep it to one drink and head south together only once everyone is comfortable. If either couple is unsure, the drink is the whole night, and that is perfectly fine. Agree beforehand who is driving.
